Hermanos Frias del Val Our Wines > Our Wine Makers > Hermanos Frias del Val
|
The brother Frias del Val (Gabriel and Vicente) are fourth generation winemakers from the cillage of Villabuena in Rioja Alavesa. They are firm believers in the careful selection and gentle handing and pressing of their grapes to ensure the best possible quality. They invested in a new winery in 2000 and are starting to experiment with a barrel maturation lengths and blends of different parcels of land. My highlight from the visit was an excellent lunch of lamb cooked on an outside fire made with vine cuttings. Fantastic stuff! |
