I've always wanted to buy wine from a man called Jesus and my wish has finally come true! Jesus Gonzalez Teso lives the beautiful village of Labastide and his underground cellars date back to the 13th century. His wines are excellent and his enthusiasm inspiring.

Fruit led, modern style of Rioja with hints of dark cherry, coffee and caramel. 12 months in oak barrel. Very well crafted smooth red with oodles of flavour.

Old vine Tempranillo only made in the best years. Long slow fermentation over the winter adds complexity then matured for 16 months in oak barrel. Dense, big red with hints of banana and papaya, then red fruits and toffee.
Very complex and a true ‘high expression’ of the best family vineyards. Excellent.
