Ask anyone in the wine trade what they drink at home and it won’t be long before the word Alsace is mentioned. The dry, aromatic white wines from this French wine region offer terrific value and go very well with food.
Visitors to Alsace are always reaching for the superlatives. The string of impossibly picturesque medieval villages nestling in the foothills of the Vosges mountains are surely the most attractive Route du Vin in all of France.
Armand Baur’s family have been making wines in Eguisheim (my favourite village in Alsace) since the early 18th century.
Try these elegant, aromatic whites with fish, chicken and pork, spicy oriental dishes or charcuterie.
